Horst Lindhofer
PhD, Founder and CEO

Following his PhD thesis at the Ludwig Maximilian's University, Horst Lindhofer moved to the Helmholtz Zentrum München, where he was initially group leader, then head of a clinical cooperation group with Munich's University Hospital. During this time, he laid the foundation for the innovative Triomab® approach and initiated the first clinical studies with trifunctional antibodies. Results were highly encouraging and gave impetus to the foundation of TRION in 1998. Since then, he has developed the company into a successful biopharmaceutical enterprise with state-of-the-art product development capabilities and in-house GMP manufacturing facilities. He has published numerous scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals and won several prestigious awards for his ground-breaking work in the field of cancer immunotherapy.

Bozena Baumgartner
Head of Quality Management

Bozena Baumgartner is a pharma engineer by training. Before moving to TRION in 1998 she was with WALA Heilmittel GmbH and Baxter Deutschland GmbH where she gained substantial expertise on GMP-compliant facilities. She lead-managed the establishment of TRION's first production facility which received GMP certification in 2001. During the course of TRION's growth, she was instrumental in setting up the company's quality systems covering the full range of the company's processes, equipment and facilities. Today, she supervises not only TRION's quality assurance and facility maintenance but also its regulatory affairs activities.

Jens Herold
PhD, Head of Project Management

Jens Herold is Head of Project Management at TRION Pharma since 2009. He joined the company in 2006 as Project Manager and brought in this function removab® successfully to the market. Before that, Dr. Herold managed early development projects at Vakzine Projekt Management and held several management positions with SWITCH Biotech. He was also a co-founder of Iguazu Biosciences, San Francisco. Jens Herold is a biologist by training and received his Ph.D. from the University of Würzburg for his work on the replication of coronaviruses in 1995 and did his post-doctoral research in virus replication at the University of Würzburg and UCSF, San Francisco. Jens Herold is author of more than 20 publications and patents.

Andreas Lingnau
Head of Production

Andreas Lingnau is an engineer in the field of biotechnology. With expert knowledge in GMP and process development he moved from Baxter Deutschland GmbH to TRION in 1998, taking over responsibility for the production of the company's innovative trifunctional antibodies. Building on the work of Horst Lindhofer and his team, he set up a robust and fully scalable GMP process for Triomab® that is in line with the stringent requirements of international regulatory authorities. Today, he oversees two production facilities including the manufacture of Removab® for worldwide market supply. In addition, his team develops and optimizes manufacturing processes for subsequent Triomab® candidates.

Marita Mogensen
Human Resources and Legal Affairs

Before joining TRION's management team in 2002, Marita Mogensen gained wide-spread experience as a business economist in various aspects of financing at leading banks, most recently at Deutsche Bank AG. She played a substantial role in enhancing TRION's commercial and HR divisions by implementing and structuring finance and controlling systems as well as HR strategies.  She was Head of Finance, Human Resources and IT until August 2008 when she decided to split responsibilities in response to the company’s exceptional growth. As Head of HR and Legal Affairs, she now focuses on TRION´s operational and strategic human resources issues as well as legal matters.

Dirk Pelster
MD, PhD, Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Following his studies in human biology and medicine, including a doctoral thesis, Dirk Pelster worked for several years as a management consultant to the health care industry with The Boston Consulting Group. In 2003, he moved to TRION where he played a decisive role in structuring substantial partnership extensions and took over responsibility for business development and project management. Effective February 2009 he was appointed chief operating officer (COO) and is responsible for several departments, including manufacturing, quality control, quality management and project management.

Petra Simml
Head of Finance and Administration

Petra Simml joined TRION in 2008 to lead the company’s newly established division of finance and administration with responsibility for all commercial matters, office management and IT. She brings more than 10 years of experience in the international pharmaceutical industry to the team. In her most recent position as Head of Finance with Hospira, a global specialty pharma company, she oversaw all the company’s commercial issues including financial planning, the allocation of resources, treasury management and financial reporting. Before that, she was Head of Business Planning and Analysis with Sandoz and worked as financial analyst with Kanoldt Arzneimittel. She holds a diploma in business administration from Munich University.

Michael Wasiliu
PhD, Head of Quality Control, Qualified Person

Michael Wasiliu joined TRION in 1998, following a post-doctoral fellowship at the Helmholtz Zentrum München and several years with Fresenius AG, in different positions with responsibility for the development, production and quality control of marketed as well as investigational protein therapeutics. Under his leadership, TRION has built up extensive in-house capabilities and expert knowledge in protein analytics, cell biology and microbiology, enabling the company to characterize and monitor the quality of Triomab® antibodies throughout the manufacturing process. Together with his team he is also responsible for performance and evaluation of stability studies and comparability analysis. Michael Wasiliu holds a PhD in biochemistry.
