Unique Approach

Despite significant progress with surgical techniques, radiation and chemotherapy to tackle primary tumors, the elimination of remaining cancer cells scattered throughout the body is still a major challenge. These cells are likely to form metastases responsible for the eventual reccurrence of cancer.

Immunotherapeutic approaches have demonstrated strong potential to overcome the limitations of conventional cancer therapy, but only a few of them were able to demonstrate efficacy in clinical trials.  TRION Pharma, however, has already established clinical proof of concept with its trifunctional antibodies called Triomab®. While initial clinical development focused on advanced tumor stages, the application is now being expanded to address minimal residual disease. It has already been demonstrated that Triomab® antibodies can be safely administered during surgery immediately after tumor resection. The goal is to find and destroy remaining tumor cells and thus prevent cancer relapse.
